Mold remediation is not a promise to remove every environmental spore. The practical objective is to correct the moisture source, control the work area, remove affected material when required, clean remaining surfaces, and document the work performed.
Containment separates the work zone
Physical barriers and controlled access can limit movement of dust and debris into unaffected areas. Depending on the scope, HEPA-filtered air devices and pressure controls may be used to support that separation.
Source correction comes first
A roof leak, plumbing failure, groundwater condition, ventilation problem, or another source must be addressed by the appropriate party. Remediation without moisture control does not solve the condition that allowed growth to develop.
Removal and cleaning depend on the material
Some porous materials may require controlled removal. Other materials may be cleaned when their condition and the approved scope allow it. Products should be selected for the intended use and applied according to their labels.
Keep removed material and equipment controlled
Bagging or otherwise containing removed material, using suitable transport, and cleaning equipment before it returns to inventory help reduce the chance of carrying jobsite debris to vehicles or another property.
Independent review can be coordinated
When a project requires independent sampling or post-remediation review, AWDR can coordinate with an environmental professional. The testing scope and interpretation remain the responsibility of that independent provider.
